Guidewell Education is seeking a Director of Marketing to lead our Marketing and Communications Team. In this role, you will oversee marketing, communications, content, and campaigns across multiple educational services brands in the U.S. and U.K. and serve as an integral member of the Strategy team, driving our growth as the leading educational services provider to parents and educators.

About the Opportunity

The Director of Marketing is a critical leader within the Guidewell organization, serving as the hub between our internal knowledge, our external communications, and the realization of our business objectives. This role presents the exciting opportunity to drive Guidewell’s growth through a truly impactful and engaging brand experience for stakeholders at both the parent company and brand level. The Director of Marketing leads a small internal team, manages third-party resources, and collaborates cross-functionally with leaders from our Partnerships, Client Services, Sales, and Academic Services teams to deliver best-in-class content and campaigns.

In this role you will own our marketing calendar, lead our marketing campaigns, and serve as the Creative Director and Project Manager on all marketing-related output. Specific roles and responsibilities include the following:

  • Implement a comprehensive marketing plan and calendar to drive quality leads and engagement across our various channels (email, social, etc), brands, and products.
  • Work with the team on production and distribution of all marketing materials and serve as the final gatekeeper of quality, design, and brand standards for all marketing output, whether print or digital, copy or visual.
  • Implement a comprehensive social media marketing strategy to support engagement across brands.
  • Own planning and execution of large-scale lead generation campaigns across brands.
  • Create a digital marketing strategy that serves each brand and implement digital marketing needs for each brand.
  • Manage branded websites, providing updates and creating landing pages in Webflow and Wordpress to serve our lead generation and campaign needs, and collaborate with Webflow contractor for more complex/time-intensive needs.
  • Collaborate with Content Task Force to create new and engaging content and to plan webinar series and guest panels that will drive leads and engagement across brands.
  • Manage marketing requests from all stakeholders/departments and communicate with stakeholders and Marketing team to define needs and delegate tasks, as needed, and ensure timely delivery of requested assets.
  • Manage marketing team, including communications/content strategist(s) and internal or contract copywriters and designers, providing clear direction and structure to team on campaign, content, and asset needs.
  • Leverage reporting data to continually adjust and improve content, digital, and channel strategies.
Work Location: remote; option for hybrid work if desired and within close proximity to one of our offices.

  • You are a proactive, self-starter who takes initiative while communicating early and often with stakeholders.
  • You relish the challenge of working in a dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities, and feel comfortable setting and communicating plans to balance among those priorities.
  • You are a fast learner and you’re not afraid to ask questions. You always want to understand how the various parts of a complex decision impact other stakeholders or decisions and think accordingly when you make decisions and implement them.
  • You are a highly-organized planner and experienced project manager who sets deadlines in advance, can see and delegate all the required tasks, and can lead across teams.
  • You have a keen sense of style (written and visual) and attention to detail; understanding the quality and consistency are vital to building brand trust.
  • You share the Guidewell values of being student-centered, empathetic, an expert practitioner, and growth-oriented and you can articulate how the other requirements set forth in this job description align with those values. 

Requirements 

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills
  • 7+ years proven experience as a marketing leader, with experience in education a plus
  • Thorough project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple large projects
  • Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities
  • A strong craft for copy editing and achieving consistent brand voice
  • Design and/or creative direction abilities with strong adherence to brand guidelines
  • Social media management experience with a proven record of driving audience growth and engagement
  • Active working knowledge of current online and digital marketing techniques, trends, and best practices
  • Direct experience with MailChimp, Canva, InDesign, Webflow, Wordpress, and Asana
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher 
  • Availability to work full-time 
 

Compensation and Benefits

  • $110,000 - $125,000 annual salary depending on experience, plus bonus of up to 10% of annual salary based on company and personal performance.
